A Second American Revolution?? Or A Voter Rebellion??
As most of us learned in school, the American Revolution began because of Taxation without Representation. Whether that is technically and exactly correct, it nevertheless remains in our minds as the cause. The Boston Tea Party became iconic as the focal point of the Revolution. It was the birth of our great nation and patriots were abundant – Patrick Henry, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and our very own Swamp Fox – Francis Marion – just to name a few.
We are at the juncture of another revolution – look at events in our country. Rampant unemployment – some say over 15%, the government growing itself by leaps and bounds, spiraling taxes, inflation/depression/recession … even the economists can’t figure out what’s going on! Let’s look at what the Federal government is up to lately: a trillion dollars of new social welfare programs; widespread wealth redistribution; passing unconscionable debt to future generations; tax increases to pay for massive spending programs; America becoming a cradle to grave welfare state; strict gun control legislation; the power grab of the federal government under Obama’s administration.
We must stop our out of control government and put it back into the hands of the people.
We the people need to take back our country. We the people need to tell the politicians – all the politicians – exactly who we are! We the people are the voters – yes, the voters. We put these people in office and we can and should put them out of office. We the people need to elect public servants who understand they work for the voter and at the pleasure of the voters.
We the people need new patriots – men and women who will inspire as did those earliest patriots. Men and women who will take risks for their beliefs.
We the people can become patriots. We the people can fight for our foundational rights of Life, Liberty and Property. We the people can bring back pride in our country and ourselves.
Whenever your area is having a Freedom Rally or a Tea Party – join the thousands We the People. Let’s show the politicians exactly who we are! There are literally thousands and thousands of us who are totally fed up with the politicians we put in charge – let’s get rid of them! And if we don’t like the next bunch any better, we can get rid of them too! We the people have the power – ALL the power. We have it when we go vote – every time we vote. Don’t let your power go to waste. Vote. Vote every time. It’s that simple.
This nation, under God, has a government of the people, by the people, for the people – and this government shall not perish from this earth. We the people can take back our country … one vote at a time. We can say that we’re tired of earmarks – surely our founding fathers never considered that votes would be sold for earmarks. Corruption – pure and simple – and the brave men who risked their lives to found this great nation never foresaw politicians selling their votes – never considered it. But that’s what happens every time a Congressman votes for a piece of pork for their district. But of course, it’s only pork if another Congressman wants it … right! How about $2.1 million for the Center for Grape Genetics in New York? Pork?? Or $1.7 million for pig odor research in Iowa?? Pork?? You betcha!
So what are we going to do about it this rampant corruption in Washington and our state capitals??
Keep taking it?? … or start fighting back??
