Where We're Going
But where did we go from there? Were we destined to be just another static group on Facebook? How could we CHANGE THE CONGRESS IN 2010 that way?
Nope, things started happening so quickly – it seems that I awakened a sleeping giant … maybe a tiger! We grew. And we grew. Membership doubled, and then tripled. People wanted a purpose – a method to actually do something. I saw an opportunity to focus millions of Americans on a common purpose – but exactly what was the best way to do that. The web …
But then I got a piece of advice about forming a PAC – you know, a Political Action Committee. Me? Why? So I called the Federal Election Commission and spoke to a very well informed gentleman about forming a PAC and even why I needed one. I’m trying to influence Federal elections, he said. ME!?? Yes, he said. You told me you wanted 40 million Americans to stand up with you and say we’re taking back out country – one Congressional seat at the time! I admitted that was what I said. That’s trying to influence Federal elections. Ooops! There was no time to start back-pedaling so I went forward. The CHANGE THE CONGRESS IN 2010 Nonconnected Political Action Committee was formed – all legal and everything.
Here we are at www.CHANGE THE CONGRESS IN 2010.com – whoops, I needed money to buy the domain name and hosting and etc. While I’m contemplating how to raise the money to pay all the bills, let me share my vision for CHANGE THE CONGRESS IN 2010.
Picture the big red Travelers umbrella. Only picture it with an American flag on it. That’s how I envisioned CHANGE THE CONGRESS IN 2010. As an umbrella organization for Americans who are members of any and all groups and websites. I don’t want to decimate any groups. I don’t want to shut down any groups. I just want CHANGE THE CONGRESS IN 2010 to allow members from other organizations into the 40 million Americans. Why can’t that work?
I want every American to have the opportunity to be part of our group. We represent no political party, no special interests except those of the people. We want our Senators and Representatives to represent us -- the voters who elected them -- not themselves, not lobbyists, not special interests, not a political party.
Be part of the 40 million Americans willing to stand up and say we're taking our country back -- one Congressional seat at a time! Now we're changing ourselves ... our PAC name is officially CHANGE!!! for the Better!
Can we do it?? YES, we can -- our voices can be heard if we all speak the same words -- CHANGE!!! for the Better! |
